Ministry of Business, Trade, Mineral Resources, Justice and Gender Equality 

The Ministry must ensure that Naalakkersuisut's, The Government of Greenland’s, general political objectives in the area of business, trade, mineral resources, justice and gender equality are realized.

The Ministry of Business, Trade, Mineral Resources, Justice and Gender Equality handles the overall planning, analysis work and administration of political initiatives in the field of business, trade, mineral resources, justice and gender equality.

Working towards a self-supporting economy, the Ministry is responsible for ensuring a good and stable framework and growth conditions for the business sector in Greenland. The Consumer and Competition authorities in Greenland supports this work by working for well-functioning markets.

In addition, the Ministry is responsible for settling Greenland's various reporting obligations in accordance with its obligations under various international conventions, particularly in the area of human rights.

BIO 

Naaja H. Nathanielsen

Minister for Business, Trade, Mineral Resources, Justice and Gender Equality

Naaja H. Nathanielsen, who was born in 1975. She graduated in 2001 with a degree in psychology from the University of Copenhagen. She worked in the field of psychology both as a therapist and in leadership as well as an educator. In 2009 she started her political career as a member of the Parliament of Greenland where she primarily served on the committee of Finance and the committee on Minerals and Trade. In 2016 she left politics and became Director of the Prison and Probation service in Greenland up until 2021, where she became Minister for the first time. She has been a Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, Finance, Minerals, Justice, Gender Equality, Business and Trade.
